Herrera Statement on DHS Big Bend Announcement
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
San Antonio, TX – Today, Brandon Herrera made the following statement:
I’m grateful that my direct advocacy to the White House and the Department of Homeland Security has contributed to the outcome we were all working for: Avoiding the construction of an unnecessary physical barrier through Big Bend National Park.
I appreciate the Trump administration for recognizing the reality on the ground and hearing the voices of the people who know best: Those of us who live here.
But our work is not done. I will continue to seek assurances that we will rely on natural and passive border security strategies for Big Bend Ranch State Park and nearby areas where a physical barrier would be not only unnecessary but destructive to nature and the local economy.
When Congressman Tony Gonzales resigned, I promised that, despite not yet being in office, I would do everything I could to fill the gap and advocate for the people of Southwest Texas. That is what I will continue to do.
Brandon Herrera is available for interviews. Please contact Kimmie Gonzalez at 904.814.5015 or Kimmie@BrandonHerreraforCongress.com to schedule an interview.
